Volvo Penta offers its power for the agriculture of tomorrow
Volvo penta accompanies the development of the global agricultural industry by supplying RMH with tier 4 Final / Stage iV engines for its premium 17 self-propelled mixers.
Volvo Penta has partnered with the global manufacturer of RMH Lachish Industries Ltd., a company that previously used competing engines for its entire range of machines. Volvo Penta's suitability for agricultural applications was further enhanced by the launch of its Tier 4 Final / Stage IV engine range, as demonstrated by the partnership with RMH.
RMH wanted to retrofit its entire range of machines with Volvo Penta engines and began to revamp the design of its Premium 17 self-propelled mixer, which was used to supply animals on small dairy farms, to install eight-litre Volvo Penta six-cylinder engines TAD870VE.
Minimum risk, maximum gain
'It was a tough decision to convert all of our models to fit them with Volvo Penta engines, and RMH did not make it lightly,' says Ron Roth, CEO of RMH. But after evaluating all the benefits that these Volvo Penta engines could represent for us and our customers, we concluded that this shift represented a minimum risk for a maximum gain.'
The Volvo Penta solution in line with Tier 4 Final / Stage IV emission standards played a major role in RMH's decision to switch engine suppliers. By putting its commitment into the customers at the heart of the design, Volvo Penta manages to produce powerful engines with low emissions, proof that not all Tier 4 Final engines are the same.'The real advantage of Volvo Penta's Tier 4 Final / Stage IV solution compared to other engines that are currently on the market is the use of SCR technology,' continues Ronen. It is a simple solution, requiring little maintenance and fewer parts than other solutions. 'Reduction of costs' RMH has a responsibility to its customers, that of offering them good value for money, for machines at the forefront of the sector,' says Ronen. By partnering with Volvo Penta, we were able to achieve our objectives. its engines combine outstanding technical quality and reliability, and Volvo Penta provides world-class service and a high-performance after-sales service. The machines that combine all these elements represent the future of agriculture. 'The Premium 17 Self-Propelled Mixer is a real workhorse, designed to perform 20,000 hours of work over the life of the engine, which ensures an attractive cost of ownership. The exceptional energy efficiency of the TAD870VE, combined with its efficient exhaust after-treatment system, ensures maximum service life and low operating costs. In addition, the ease of maintenance and access to the engine maintenance points make it possible to space out revisions.
