Cale de l'ile and 'St Michel 2'
The SRA team recently intervened with the Cale de l'île association to motorise the replica of the boat of Jules Vernes, now named St Michel 2.
Six long years of work were necessary for the association to complete this superb boat according to the old methods of shipbuilding.
In this accomplishment, Volvo Penta made the D2-75 engine free for marine application.
This boat was baptised and launched on 15 May 2011, in front of many interested, astonished and amazed eyes. Several articles and reports were broadcast on this subject.
